Junie Armand, Executive Director & Accessibility Advocate

Junie Armand, MS, MS

Junie Armand is a dedicated mental health professional with deep expertise in accessibility, disability policy, and human rights. She holds dual master’s degrees in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College and in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston, along with bachelor’s degrees in Social Psychology and in Visual and Performing Arts.

Through her graduate training, Junie provided counseling, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and adults navigating complex challenges. She developed a strong foundation in psychotherapy, vocational rehabilitation, and therapeutic crisis intervention, with a focus on chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, and culturally responsive care. Her applied work during her master’s programs emphasized both clinical practice and advocacy, blending direct support with a commitment to equity and inclusion.

A lifelong artist, Junie finds her deepest inspiration in art therapy. She believes art has a transformative power to heal, connect, and liberate. For Junie, art therapy is not just a professional tool but a personal calling, an avenue where creativity meets care. She has designed and led programs that weave together counseling and creative expression, witnessing firsthand how painting, drawing, and other forms of art can help individuals process trauma, discover resilience, and tell their stories in ways words alone cannot.

Junie is fluent in English, American Sign Language, French, and Haitian Creole, which allows her to bridge communities and offer care and advocacy that is linguistically and culturally inclusive. She has also designed and led programs that integrate counseling with creative expression, using art as a powerful tool for healing, empowerment, and resilience.

With her unique combination of clinical expertise, multilingual capacity, and passion for accessibility, Junie continues to advance equity in mental health and community spaces, ensuring that individuals of all backgrounds have the resources, respect, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Our team is also made up of dedicated volunteers, community advocates, and supporters who bring their unique skills and lived experiences to the work. From offering art class support, to assisting with outreach, organizing, and program development, each member contributes to creating inclusive, community centered impact. Together, We Are Here and we are committed to remaining grounded in collaboration, care, and equity.
